SET UP PROCEDURES

V810R with built in regulator

1. Connect a filtered regulated air line from a standard air compressor to “Air In”. Adjust compressor air pressure to 70 psi or greater.

2. Turn the Vacuum Generator “ON”.  Hold a finger over the vacuum filter inlet (white hose barb with built in filter).  Adjust air regulator on unit twisting right or left to obtain maximum vacuum up to 22"hg at sea level.  Maximum vacuum achievable is variable due to altitude/barometric pressure.  Turning the regulator too much to the right or too much to the left will decrease the vacuum.  Turn regulator knob to the right until the vacuum decreases, turn knob back to the left until vacuum increases to its maximum.  If the vacuum starts to go down turn it again slightly back to the right.  When maximum vacuum is obtained, turn “OFF”.  Note: if the regulator knob is too difficult to turn, turn unit "OFF" and then turn the regulator knob.

3. Connect blue vacuum hose included with V802 Adapter to filter inlet and rotary bearing hose barb.  Clamps are not normally necessary.

4. Center the part to be shaped on the V803 or V806 vacuum chuck.  Hold in place and turn vacuum “ON”.

5. Warning: With part in place, holding vacuum must read a minimum of 12” Hg to ensure adequate hold.  Highly porous material may “leak” excessively, creating an unsafe weak   holding condition.

6. Warning: Before turning vacuum off, ensure the lathe has stopped completely or part will fly off.

7. Caution: As with any lathe chucking system use caution as you shape your project.  Projects may fly off the chuck unexpectedly. Wear eye protection and use all safety features applicable to the wood lathe in use.

  • NOTE: It is essential that Clean, without an air oiler, compressed air is used to supply this system.  The Vacuum generators inside the V810 will clog if there is debris or oil from air lines or compressor used.  It is highly recommended that our V849 inline air filter  or other filter be installed in the air supply hose close to the V810 unit.
